WestGrid, UofC, and UBC complete two successful 2019 Research Computing Summer Schools

This summer, WestGrid partnered with the University of Calgary's Research Computing Services team and the University of British Columbia's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) team to host two successful Research Computing Summer Schools. Both events were at capacity, selling out their spots within weeks of registration opening.

Combined, the two schools hosted nearly 400 attendees, and delivered hands-on training across a range of introductory and advanced research computing topics. The UBC School event livestreamed some of its sessions, and the recordings are available to watch online. Other materials from the schools (ie. powerpoint slides, exercises, etc.) can be found on the respective Summer School event pages:

That wraps up WestGrid's Summer School season for 2019. If you are interested in having your institution host a future Summer School event, please contact WestGrid's Training and Visualization Coordinator, Alex Razoumov -

If you're interested in hosting something shorter or more targeted than a Summer School, WestGrid has instructors and materials to cover a wide range of topics related to scientific computing, high-performance computing, data analysis, and visualization. Click here for more details
