To enhance the security of its resources, Compute Canada is modifying the configuration of the SSH security protocol used to connect to its clusters. SSH protects the information transmitted between the user and the cluster, and verifies the identity of both parties. To learn more about SSH, please read the Compute Canada wiki page: https://docs.computecanada.ca/wiki/SSH.

The new configuration will affect all users and requires action from you.

This summer, WestGrid partnered with the University of Calgary's Research Computing Services team and the University of British Columbia's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) team to host two successful Research Computing Summer Schools. Both events were at capacity, selling out their spots within weeks of registration opening.

Notice to users: The Cedar system will be unavailable July 15-16. This outage is necessary to complete upgrades to Cedar’s /home and /scratch filesystems.

During this time, users will not be able to log in or run jobs on the cluster. Any jobs in progress at the time of the outage will be stopped and users will need to re-submit them once Cedar is back online on July 17.
