HPCS (High Performance Computing Symposium) is Canada's foremost HPC conference - a multidisciplinary conference where computational researchers from all disciplines in industry and academia, computer scientists, and vendors exchange new tools, techniques and interesting results in and for HPC computational research. The HPCS2010 conference will take place at the University of Toronto on June 6-9, with workshops on the two days preceding the symposium.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment on the French-Swiss border has set a new world record for energy.

The LHC is an international project, of which several WestGrid researchers are a part of. It is funded by and built in collaboration with over eight thousand physicists from over eighty-five countries as well as hundreds of universities and laboratories. WestGrid makes a significant contribution to the international infrastructure for the analysis of data produced by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
