OpenSees, the Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/), is a general framework, written mainly in C++, to simulate the performance of structural and geotechnical systems subjected to earthquakes/loads.
OpenSees is an open source project (please read the Copyright and Disclaimer).
Before running OpenSees, you need to write your TCL input/model. So, you need to be familiar with the way OpenSees specifies the model to simulate (see OpenSees user manual). To run OpenSees on a system check the version installed (if any), its type (serial or parallel) and the instructions of how to run it on the software page associated with the system at hand.
