Compute Canada account renewals happen annually during the spring. Renewals are done through the Compute Canada Database (CCDB), a national registry that allows Compute Canada and the regional organizations to manage and share information. Renewing your Compute Canada account will automatically renew your WestGrid Account (as of 2014, no separate renewal process for WestGrid is required).
When it’s time to renew your account, you will be sent an e-mail giving further instructions on how to renew it online through the CCDB.
The information you provide when renewing your account is valuable for our annual impact reports to the Canada Foundation for Innovation. Our ability to showcase the successful use of our resources builds an important case for long-term and sustainable funding of WestGrid and Compute Canada operations.
If no action is taken to renew your Compute Canada account by the renewal deadline date, your Compute Canada and WestGrid accounts will automatically expire and be deactivated. In this state, you will not be able to access your account or files, but the account and the files are not removed. There is a 90-day grace period during which you can still renew your account with the CCDB to regain access. If 90 days pass and there is no action, the account is automatically retired and the account and its files will be removed from Compute Canada and WestGrid’s systems.
