WestGrid Members

A WestGrid Member is any institution in Western Canada that pays a membership fee to WestGrid and receives funding through the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Major Science Initiatives (MSI) program. Each Member can elect a representative to the WestGrid Member Council, which has input on WestGrid governance and strategic planning. WestGrid Members also provide matching funds for all CFI grants.

Some WestGrid Member institutions are also members of Compute Canada. All institutions eligible for funding from the CFI are eligible to become Compute Canada Members upon paying an annual membership fee.

If you are interested in becoming a member of WestGrid and/or Compute Canada, please contact for more information.

Note: An institution does not have to be a Member of Compute Canada or a Member of WestGrid for its researchers to have access to the national platform of advanced research computing resources. Accredited faculty members of all Canadian institutions are eligible to use WestGrid and Compute Canada resources.
