In case you missed it, we had a very successful WestGrid seminar today on the topic of 'Running Jobs on WestGrid'. With seven attending sites and four sites presenting from all over Western Canada, this seminar was technically very challenging. This seminar required the use of two venueservers complete with bridges (AG2 & AG3), two vnc reflectors (one for web participants, one for AG participants), and a Quicktime Streaming Server. Interestingly, the four presenters (one each from Vancouver/SFU, Vancouver/UBC, UofC/Calgary, UofA/Edmonton) each presented using the same computer via one of the vnc reflector feeds. Given the fact that this seminar went off without a hitch shows how far we have come within WestGrid in providing an advanced collaboration infrastructure.
